Sean Payton has found his new backup quarterback in Denver.
The Broncos are signing former Raiders and Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham to a two-year, $10 million deal, according to multiple reports.
Stidham was believed to have a shot at starting for the Raiders next season, had he re-signed. However, the AFC West franchise is believed to have interest in Jimmy Garoppolo, possibly leading to Stidham’s decision to sign elsewhere.
Stidham will presumably serve as Russell Wilson’s backup this next season.
“Sources: Former #Raiders QB Jarrett Stidham is signing a 2-year, $10M deal with the #Broncos, choosing to play for Sean Payton over other options. The deal, which includes $5M guaranteed and $4M more in upside, reunites him Davis Webb – who he has known since he was a teenager,” said Ian Rapoport.

Jarrett Stidham, the Auburn alum, began his NFL career with the New England Patriots in 2019. He played sparingly for the Patriots before joining the Raiders last season.
Stidham completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 656 yards and four touchdowns with three picks in five games, two of which he started.
Stidham gets a fresh start in Denver. The Broncos, meanwhile, bolster their quarterback depth.
