Bobby Wagner was released by the Los Angeles Rams on February 23rd.
Roughly two and a half weeks later, it appears he’s in conversations about plans for his 12th NFL season.
According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the eight-time Pro Bowler has been contacted by the Cowboys for the second straight year. A former team of Wagner’s, the Seattle Seahawks, are interested in a possible reunion too, Werder writes this Monday afternoon.
The #Cowboys have contacted LB Bobby Wagner about their interest in signing him for the second time in as many years. Seahawks interested too. Source tells me Wagner decision not imminent as both seek to determine his current value.

Wagner began his NFL career with the Seahawks after being selected in the second round of the 2012 draft. His Seattle tenure started out strong, as he finished second to former Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in his first professional campaign.
Since then, Wagner has consistently been labeled as one of the best off-ball linebackers in all of football. He earned eight straight Pro Bowl nods from 2014 to 2021 and is currently in the midst of a nine-year run of being selected to an All-Pro team.
An apparent Rams cap casualty this offseason, Wagner still performed at a high level in 2022 and did not appear to be released based on a downturn in his play. He tallied a team-high 140 tackles last season in addition to setting a new career-high in sacks (6).
Wagner would certainly provide a boost to either the Cowboys’ or Seahawks’ linebacker room in 2023. The 32-year-old has been one of the most productive players at his position in recent years and he doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down.
