After publicly courting Odell Beckham Jr. for much of the 2022 season, and the beginning of this offseason, it appears the Dallas Cowboys have reached a conclusion on the talented wideout.
And it’s the same conclusion they reached during the season. Mike McCarthy’s squad is reportedly set to proceed without OBJ.
According to a report this morning from Calvin Watkins, the Cowboys’ acquisition of Brandin Cooks has made an Odell Beckham Jr. pursuit unnecessary.
“No surprise here but multiple people with knowledge of the Cowboys’ thinking said the team is out of the Odell Beckham Jr., business. Brandin Cooks, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup are the Big 3,” Watkins tweeted.

It’s news that may come as a disappointment to some Cowboys fans, as Beckham Jr. has long seemed like an ideal fit behind CeeDee Lamb in Dallas’ offense.
But with Cooks in the fold, Beckham would have joined a crowded depth chart and perhaps not receive the number of targets he’d desire.
And Dallas’ absence from the OBJ market will hardly dampen enthusiasm for his services. There are no shortages of contenders that could use a wide receiver of OBJ’s caliber, including the Buffalo Bills. Jordan Schultz of theScore reported on the team’s interest yesterday.
