The New York Giants are gearing up for the 2023 NFL Draft, heavily scouting prospects at their biggest positions of need. The Giants’ consensus top weaknesses entering draft season are at wide receiver, center, and cornerback.Â
In Pro Football Focus’s latest three-round mock draft, New York addressed all three of their top needs, landing two consensus “day-one” starters in the process.
With their first round pick in PFF’s mock draft, the Giants selected USC WR Jordan Addison. The Giants have expressed interest in Addison throughout the pre-draft process. Addison will reportedly meet with New York as one of the team’s top-30 visits.Â
The Giants also met with Addison at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine and attended USC’s Pro Day to get an additional look at the first-round talent.
Addison cemented himself as a future first-round pick during his 2021 sophomore season at Pitt in which he totaled 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns in 14 games.Â
He then transferred to USC for the 2022 season, logging 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games for the Trojans.
Mitch Kaiser of PFF describes Addison as being “as NFL-ready as it gets” from the WR position. His versatility and crisp route running make him a perfect fit for the Giants.
