Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd on Tuesday unveiled the latest iteration of his NFL mock draft.
In trademark Colin Cowherd fashion, it contained a couple of surprises that will have The Herd viewers buzzing.
Chief among these unorthodox picks: The Arizona Cardinals selecting Jalen Carter third overall. Not only did Cowherd have Arizona taking Carter 3rd, he dubbed Jalen “arguably the best player in the draft.”
As a point of reference, in three of ESPN’s latest mock drafts- from Mel Kiper Jr., Todd McShay, and Jordan Reid- Carter wasn’t selected higher than 5th overall.
Carter’s legal issues and poor Pro Day showing depressed the market for his services. But in Cowherd’s mind, the Georgia product remains a top-three pick.

In his second notable maneuver: The Las Vegas Raiders would trade up to the 4th overall pick to select Will Levis. In Cowherd’s mind, Levis having a year to develop behind Jimmy Garoppolo is just what the quarterback prospect needs.
Cowherd’s mock draft isn’t just notable for the players selected, but those omitted.
Colin didn’t have highly touted quarterback Anthony Richardson going within the top 10. Rather, he picked Will Anderson, Myles Murphy, Paris Johnson Jr., Christian Gonzalez, Tyree Wilson, and Peter Skoronski to round out his first selections.
It’s a bold list, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from the hot take maestro.
