Tom Brady and Devin McCourty were teammates for 10 years in New England. The two became opponents after Brady went to the Buccaneers in 2019, but this Friday, it seemed they were thinking fondly of their time spent together in Foxborough.

Brady took to Instagram yesterday to wish McCourty well in his recently announced retirement.

“New England Legend. You outlasted me by a month!” Brady said.

“Congrats on the well deserved retirement.”

Responding to Brady’s kind words and a photo of the two together during McCourty’s rookie year, the longtime Patriots defensive back said, “Hahah Thanks bro…at this moment my rookie year I knew you were crazy…almost knocked me out.”

McCourty joined Brady in New England in 2010 after being selected in the first round of the draft out of Rutgers. The pair won three Super Bowls together in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

Unlike Brady, who spent his final three seasons in Tampa Bay, McCourty spent his entire NFL career with the Patriots. Throughout his 13 years in New England, McCourty was named to two Pro Bowls and three second-team All-Pro squads.

We’d like to wish “New England Legend” Devin McCourty the best as he begins his post-football playing career.
