The Philadelphia 76ers hold a 2-0 series lead over the Brooklyn Nets entering Game 3 on Thursday night, and it’s been relatively easy for the No. 3 seed in the East. Joel Embiid has only taken 26 shots in two games with Philadelphia winning the first two matchups by double-digits. But with the series heading to Brooklyn, will the Sixers get their NBA MVP candidate more involved in the action, and is he worth adding to your NBA DFS lineups on Thursday?
Those are the sorts of questions that NBA daily Fantasy players are mulling heading into a trio of games tonight, and it’s an NBA DFS player pool loaded with strong upper-echelon options. However, winning big in NBA DFS tournaments, cash games and 50-50s is often about extracting value out of more affordable players, so who are some of the cheaper options that can help you balance your lineups? Before making your NBA DFS picks for Thursday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with over $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.
This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.
On Wednesday, McClure highlighted Nuggets guard Jamal Murray as one of his top NBA DFS picks. The result: Murray had 40 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals, returning 56.25 points on DraftKings and 53.1 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day. Â Â

Top NBA DFS picks for Thursday, April 20
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Thursday is Warriors PF/C Jonathan Kuminga ($4,200 on DraftKings and $3,900 on FanDuel). The first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft has used his length to become a valuable asset for Golden State these past two seasons. But he only played nine minutes in the Game 1 loss to Sacramento and then was only on the floor for three minutes in the Game 2 loss.
However, with Draymond Green suspended for his role in a tangle with Kings center Domantas Sabonis, Kuminga figures to see much more playing time in Game 3. Kuminga played 19.4 minutes per game this season with Green in the lineup but saw 30.2 minutes per game of action when Green wasn’t available.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes stacking Kuminga with point guard Stephen Curry ($9,700 on DraftKings, $9,400 on FanDuel). The two-time NBA MVP and nine-time all-star averaged 29.4 points, 6.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game during the regular season.
He’s scored 58 points in his first two games but has shot just 9-for-27 from the 3-point line, and the career 42.8% 3-point shooter could be a positive regression candidate moving forward. And he’s been at his most efficient when playing at home, shooting 50.0% from the floor and 45.3% from the 3-point line at the Chase Center this season.
