On Thursday, Brook Lopez set an NBA season-high with nine blocked shots in Milwaukee’s win over Brooklyn, to go along with 24 points and 10 boards. Lopez isn’t a part of Friday’s NBA DFS slate with the Bucks off, but the Nets are in action again as they will face Minnesota. The Wolves have their own shot-blocking force in Rudy Gobert, so should the Frenchman make his way into Friday’s NBA DFS lineups?
Gobert has seven double-doubles over his last 10 games versus Brooklyn while averaging 2.7 blocks over that stretch. Sometimes you need to exploit the matchups when formulating an NBA DFS strategy, and Gobert could be a favorable daily Fantasy basketball pick tonight. Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, March 10
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday is Hawks guard Dejounte Murray ($7,700 on DraftKings and $8,500 on FanDuel). Murray continues to be a stat-stuffing maven in his first year in Atlanta as he’s averaging 21 points, 6.0 assists. 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. He’s logged multiple steals in three straight games which followed him dropping a career-high of 41 points a week ago against Portland.
Atlanta takes on Washington on Friday, and Murray has feasted on the Wizards throughout his career. Over his last six games against Washington, he has two triple-doubles and another two double-doubles. During this stretch, Murray has averaged 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.2 steals, so you can see why McClure is high on him for tonight.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Nets forward Cameron Johnson ($6,600 on DraftKings, $5,800 on FanDuel). Johnson did not play on Thursday due to knee soreness but isn’t even on the injury report for Friday against Minnesota. His numbers have increased across the board since being traded from Phoenix, and he’s averaging 17.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals with the Nets.
Johnson has seen the Wolves once this year, and he scored 29 points against Minnesota while he was still in a Suns uniform. He also had 23 points against the Timberwolves in his previous outing versus them, so he appears to have their number. With Ben Simmons (knee) remaining out, Johnson will have no shortage of playing time, and the marksman could exploit a perimeter-challenged Wolves defense that ranks 24th in 3-point percentage allowed.
