Patrick Mahomes showed on Sunday that NFL stars are just like the rest of us.
Sure, the Kansas City Chiefs franchise quarterback has some luxuries that most of us don’t: Namely, a $450 million contract, two Super Bowl rings, and two MVP awards.
But when free agency kicks off in earnest this week, he’ll be glued to Twitter for updates along with every other NFL fan.

Fans eagerly co-signed Mahomes’ sentiments, noting that the coming offseason will be an intriguing one in Kansas City.

The Chiefs already pulled a surprising move in opting not to franchise-tag Orlando Brown. Unless Kansas City is able to sign the 26-year-old to a long-term contract extension before tomorrow, he’ll be a highly sought after free agent.
Similarly, the team’s handling of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will be worth monitoring. The former Pittsburgh Steeler picked up a Super Bowl ring in his first year as a Chief, but is tabbed to become an unrestricted free agent.
Will the Chiefs go with a more conservative approach and keep their existing assets in-house, or spend lavishly on a supporting cast for Mahomes? Like Patrick, we’ll sit around and wait to find out.
