The Carolina Panthers have secured their new franchise quarterback. With the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Panthers selected former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.
It’s an expected move by the NFC South franchise, which desperately needed an upgrade at the quarterback position. Insert Young.
NBA superstar Stephen Curry, a noted Carolina Panthers fans, is a big fan of the selection by Carolina.
Ahead of Warriors-Kings Game 6 on Friday night, Curry gave Young a huge vote of confidence: “QB1. Bryce Young.”

That’s the kind of support Bryce Young needs in year one. Rookie seasons aren’t easy.
The good news is Young has a veteran quarterback to learn from in Carolina. NFL journeyman Andy Dalton signed with the Panthers this offseason and is ready to give Young a run for his money.
As long as Young lives up to the hype, though, he should be Carolina’s day-one starter this upcoming season.
Hopefully Steph Curry, meanwhile, gets back out to a few Panthers games this fall.
